    Daniel Horgan, LPC

    Daniel Horgan, LPC, has spent his career working with children and adolescents in a variety of capacities. Dan was a high school teacher in Boston, MA before relocating to Georgia and attending graduate school at Augusta University. While at Augusta University, Dan completed his practicum and internship at Families Forward and since receiving his Master’s Degree has worked in Augusta and Aiken as a mental health therapist with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers.

    Dan believes that everybody who wants help with making sense of and managing complicated emotions should have the opportunity to do so. His approach to therapy is heavily individualized and goal-oriented and tends to focus on re-defining one’s past and present in order to have a positive impact on the future. He believes that therapy should be portable and coping strategies should be adaptable to be used in a variety of daily settings. Dan’s areas of therapeutic focus include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders; stress; child and parent trauma; bullying and other social stressors; and parenting strategies.
